Ten territorial and volunteer fire stations in the Republic of Moldova will be renovated by September 2025, following a 4.2 million lei investment by the European Union.
The funding is provided through the "EU4Resilient Moldova: Safe State, Strong Communities" project and aims to improve rescuers' working conditions and emergency response capacity, IPN reports.
Each selected locality will be able to access funds of up to 418 thousand lei for repair works and modernization of the intervention infrastructure, such as ventilation systems, insulation, sanitary facilities and rest areas.
In addition to these renovations, 35 fire stations across the country will be equipped with modern equipment and advanced communication systems, which will contribute to increased preparedness and faster response to fires and other emergencies.
The beneficiary localities were selected following a call for grants launched in December 2024 by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
