100 Moldovan servicemen to take part in military drill in Germany
The National Army will detach 100 professional servicemen of the Peacekeeping Battalion No. 22, the Special Destination Battalion “Fulger” and the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” to take part in Mission Readiness Exercise that will be staged by the U.S. Army at the military base in Germany’s Hohenfels, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Defense, General Staff chief, National Army commander and brigade general Vitalie Stoian said that the drill in Germany represents an opportunity for the National Army to maintain the capacity to prepare for fight of the infantry company that has been certified by foreign experts this year. It is also an occasion for gaining experience in organizing exercises to prepare for participation in different operations.
In the same connection, lieutenant colonel Sergio Porris, the representative of the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, said that the National Army units took part in different peacekeeping missions and exercises and were every time appreciated as very professional and prepared.
The Mission Readiness Exercise is organized by the U.S. Army in Europe and consists of a number of phases. At the first stage, the servicemen will take training courses in a series of specialties, where emphasis will be put on the application of the knowledge acquired in different modern stimulators. At the second stage, there will be staged the combined field and general staff exercise in cooperation with military men from Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, the United States, and Georgia.
The drill will take place between November 26 and December 12.
