The PCRM’s candidate for mayor general of Chisinau Igor Dodon collected 200,000 complaints from residents of the municipality during the electoral period. The Chisinau inhabitants are dissatisfied that the problems faced by the capital city remain unsolved. On May 30, Igor Dodon summed up the results of the election campaign and promised to deal with all the petitions sent to him, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The people complain about the main problems of Chisinau municipality – starting with the infrastructure and ending with the simplest needs of the residents,” said Igor Dodon. The candidate pledged in half a year to present a report on how the problems described in the petitions were solved. He said he will continue to collect such letters and will report on the results achieved every half a year. Igor Dodon stated that the PCRM’s team of candidates for councilor during the election campaign had over 2,700 meetings with the voters, which were attended by more than 100,000 residents of Chisinau municipality. “We launched eight electoral offers in a number of important areas, which focus on the people’s needs. We managed to visit every company and talk to the employees. We all want to be sure about the future after June 5,” said the candidate. Igor Dodon promised to develop the water supply and sewerage systems in the suburbs, to remove the unauthorized waste dumps, to create conditions for recreation in the parks and green areas, to provide plots to young families and budget-funded employees from the suburbs on which to build houses, to create an online register of architectural monuments, etc. He also said he will institute the municipal prize “For special accomplishments in developing culture”, and will increase pensions and salaries. Igor Dodon comes sixth in the ballot for the mayoralty, while the PCRM tops the list in the ballot for the Chisinau Council.
