As many as 214 persons confirmed with COVID-19 in Moldova are in a serious state and 17 of them were put on a ventilator, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated after the meeting of the National Focal Point, IPN reports.

The number of confirmed infections now stands at 2,926. Of these, 338 cases were recorded in the Transnistrian region. A number of 755 persons were cured of the disease by now.

Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the intense testing in hotbeds continues, including at the temporary placement center for persons with disabilities in Cocieri. There were confirmed eight cases among beneficiaries and three cases among employees. Another 40 employees and 58 beneficiaries of the center will be tested today. A large number of tests will also be done at the hospitals in Căuşeni and Orhei.

The minister reminded that most of the state institutions resume work on April 27 and the public sector employees will return to work.
