85% of the prisoners with the right to vote, held in penitentiaries that are located in settlements where the second round of voting took place, cast their ballots. Oleg Pantea, of the Department of Penitentiary Institutions, has told Info-Prim Neo that the second round of elections tool place in 11 of the 17 penitentiaries. The voting process closed at 17.00. According to the rolls, there were 945 detainees with the right to vote in the 11 penitentiaries. 801 of them voted, while the rest refused to exercise this right. Half of those who did not want to vote in the elections are from the penitentiary in Cahul. 665 prisoners elected the mayor general of Chisinau. The prisoners held in the following penitentiaries were able to vote in the second round of the local elections: Leova; Cahul; Soroca; Rezina; Cricova No. 4 and No. 15; Pruncul; No. 13 in Chisinau; Goeni; Branesti, and Orhei.
