The actions against Health Minister Andrei Usatyi are taken by those who defend Valeriu Zubko, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said after the January 18 meeting of the Council of the Alliance for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Vlad Filat, the criminal case against decision makers of the Health Ministry was started by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office on facts, not against persons, and the health minister is not investigated as a suspect in this case. The Premier said the insistence and haste by which this case is examined are evident, the aim being to change emphases and distract people’s attention from the problems that must be solved. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office ordered investigating decision makers of the Health Ministry and the Licensing Chamber after Minister Andrei Usatyi, according to the prosecutors, signed an illegal order to transmit the areas intended for drugstores from the family doctors centers to the joint stock company SanFarm-Prim. The Premier made the statements before Valeriu Zubko announced that he offered his resignation. Vlad Filat and his colleagues from the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group insisted on his resignation, saying Valeriu Zubko bears responsibility for the inappropriate way the Prosecutor General’s Office handled the case of fatal shooting during hunting in the Domneasca Forest.
