The Council of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) will come together for a meeting on July 15 to discuss possibilities of electing the head of state and of continuing the constitution of local administration bodies at district level, the head of the Liberal parliamentary group Ion Hadarca informed after the July 13 meeting of the Council, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”The meeting was convened with the aim of showing that both the AEI and the Council are functional. We agreed to hold another meeting on Friday to discuss a concrete agenda. It focuses on the functionality of the AEI, the Council and the government, the election of the head of state and the creation of local administration bodies at district level. There are reports that improvisations started at local level, which are not coordinated with the center. We will debate these subjects and try to reach a common position on them,” said Ion Hadarca.
The leader of the Democratic group Dumitru Diacov said the meeting of the AEI Council was more like a free exchange of opinions in a calm atmosphere. “A new meeting will be held by the end of this week. All the parliamentary groups will get ready so that the Alliance gets rid of its problems. Everyone realizes that we have many things to do. We do not want the tense atmosphere to affect the image of the AEI,” he stated.
The chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat, accompanied by Iurie Leanca and Valeriu Strelet, left the meeting of the AEI Council earlier and did not make statements for the press.
In a TV program later, Vlad Filat said he left the meeting because it was organized in a hurry. “In order to have a serious discussion, we need time to address every point separately. I think the colleagues have a common view on the way we interact,” he said.
