The Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” intends to come to the Chisinau City Hall for nine years – for one year that remained until the ordinary mayoral elections of 2019 and for two more terms of mayor, the party’s deputy head Alexandru Slusari stated in the program “Politics” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

“Andrei Nastase, if he wins, will concentrate his efforts on the activity at the Chisinau City Hall and this is a conscious and well-thought-out step,” said Alexandru Slusari.

Party “Action and Solidary” deputy head Mihai Popsoi noted the decision to support Andrei Nastase in the mayoral elections was difficult, but the PAS assumed it fully. “The PAS took a decisive step, being guided by the interests of the residents of the capital city, but with care for the interests of the citizens from all over the country. We decided to fully support Andrei Nastase in the mayoral elections and also announced the end of the negotiations on the creation of the electoral bloc between the PAS and PPPDA for the parliamentary elections,” he stated.

Analyst Vlad Turcanu said Andrei Nastase aspires not only to the post of mayor, but also to the seat of MP. “He is a political figure that emerged from the protest movement of 2015 and I think he will keep this status. The question is what he will manage to add to his current qualities. I mean some administrative skills. He must also be convincing when he will present his plans for the municipality,” he noted.
