Alexandru Tanase announces withdrawal from PLDM
The first vice president of the Liberal Democratic People's Party (PLDM) Alexandru Tanase announced officially that he defects from the party. The announcement was made during the party's fourth congress held on April 10.
Alexandru Tanase gave up his seat of MP after the Government appointed him as judge at the Constitutional Court.
“It is not the happiest day in my life as I leave politics. Even if the law bans the combination of the work of judge with any political activity, I will be near you with the soul and heart, my dear colleagues,” Alexandru Tanase said, addressing the members of the PLDM.
The vacated post of first vice president of the PLDM will be occupied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca.
