Alliance for European Integration exists de jure, Marian Lupu

The Alliance for European Integration (AEI) exists de jure because the documents on its constitution have not been challenged. The Parliament’s sittings on Thursday and Friday will show if the alliance exists de facto or not, the chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu said in a televised program, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marian Lupu stressed the dialogue inside a ruling alliance shouldn’t be based on pressure and conditions. “Over the last few months and even years, when we hold the meetings of the alliance, none of the partners raise serious questions, but make all kinds of escapades in public after the discussions. This makes me think that these acts pursue other goals that solving the problems,” he stated. He also said that he never resorted to speculations in order to destroy the alliance as he wants the alliance to exist and the competent institutions to deal with the problems, not to profit from them so as to hit the AEI. Last week, after the head of the Security and Information Service was dismissed by the votes of the Liberal-Democrat and Communist lawmakers, the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said those votes will lead to the destruction of the ruling alliance. The Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat invited the other two leaders of the AEI to a meeting at the State Residence on Monday, October 17.
