Lithuania is a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova, a firm supporter of the European integration objective and of the efforts to ensure peace and security in the region. It is also a promoter of Moldova's interests among foreign partners and international organizations, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi stated in Vilnius, during a meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart Laurynas Kasčiūnas, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Moldova, the two ministers discussed the joint activities, initiatives and projects implemented to strengthen the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova.

Laurynas Kasčiūnas said that Lithuania supports the Republic of Moldova’s aspirations to join the European Union and is ready to support the development of the country's Armed Forces. "Moldova's determination to pursue the goal of joining the EU and implement irreversible reforms in all areas, including defense, is an important basis for planning the support for the country's army. A strong, prosperous and democratic Moldova is in the interests of our security. Therefore, we seek to secure common support for the Armed Forces of Moldova from the Nordic and Baltic countries," the Lithuanian minister said, quoted by Delfi.

In Vilnius, Anatoly Nosatyi also had meetings with the Commander of the Armed Forces of Lithuania, General Raimundas Vaikšnoras and with representatives of the Seimas and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, and paid a visit to the Military Academy "General Jonas Žemaitis".
