The Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” is for holding early legislative elections as these will change the political class, lawyer Andrei Nastase, one of the leaders of the Platform, said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

“Our Platform pleads for the satisfaction of people’s demands. Polls show that more than a half of the population is for early elections. That’s why we are also for early elections. I don’t say that these elections should take place now, before winter. They should be held simultaneously with the presidential elections. Meanwhile, the Constitution can be amended, by referendum, so that it allows for the election of the head of state by the people,” stated Nastase.

He also said that the early parliamentary elections must be postponed as the state institutions should be first purified. “When the state institutions are controlled by one person, we should not hurry to hold early elections as these could be rigged and will represent a failure,” explained Nastase.

Last week, members of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” announced that they intend to form a political party that will represent an alternative in the future elections.
