Andrei Rotaru wins silver at European Taekwondo chapms

Moldovan sportsman Andrei Rotaru won the silver medal at the European WTF Taekwondo Championships for juniors, which ended on Sunday, June 17, in Athens, Greece, Info-Prim Neo reports. Rotaru recorded 3 victories in the 63 kg category, losing only once to a Turkish fighter, 14-17. This is Rotaru’s second major result after a third place at the World Universiade. This year, he came close to qualifying for the London Olympics. The other Moldovans that participated in the tournament in Greece were Stepan Dmitrov (54kg), Andrei Brajnicov (58kg), Vladislav Arventii (68kg), Daniel Balan (74kg) and Maria Lupascu, but all of them failed to impress. According to the press services of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the national team coach Vladislav Mazur is satisfied with the fighters’ performances.
