Anna Harlamenko to represent Gagauzia in Parliament
Anna Harlamenko, ex-speaker of the Gagauz People's Assembly, will represent the autonomy in the Moldovan Parliament, gagauzinfo.md reported.
Anna Harlamenko's candidature was approved by Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu on his recent visit to Comrat.
Until she is formally appointed, there are a few issues to be considered, like Harlamenko's request to be allowed to further use a Toyota Camry donated by Turkey during her office as People's Assembly chair, for her trips to Chisinau.
The decision to appoint a special representative of Gagauzia to the Moldovan Parliament was announced in March, after then incumbent Gagauz Speaker Anna Harlamenko met with Vlad Plahotniuc, Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament.
The special representative's mission will be to offer opinion on the bills and motions proposed in Parliament from the perspective of their impact on the Gagauz autonomy.
