Another case of hostile takeover involving Causeni judges revealed

A scheme similar to that used in the raider attacks against several Moldovan banks a couple of months ago was employed against a company called Digomobil in 2010, the company’s lawyer Alen Cirimpei told a news conference on Monday. The lawyer claims that his client was deceitfully dispossessed with the help of judges at the Causeni District Court, the same court that was involved in the case with the banks. Alen Cirimpei said that in 2009, Digomobil bought the Floresti Glass Factory. However, a group of “interested persons”challenged the deal and, on 4 October 2010, the Causeni District Court annulled it, dispossessing the director of the factory, which is valued at 140 million lei. The lawyer said that the company wasn't cited to court to participate in the trial. Later the Economic Court of Appeals declared the company in default over an alleged debt of 51 million lei and subsequently the company's management was replaced. Then the decision was appealed in the Supreme Court, which ruled in the company's favor. In 2011, the company was again declared insolvable, this time over an alleged debt of 54 million lei. Alen Cirimpei said that the insolvency decision was appealed. Additionally, complains were submitted to the Superior Council of Magistracy, however no reply was given so far.
