The leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu says that Moldova is exposed to a number of dangers in connection with the regional situation. According to the politician, the postponement of the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU by the government of Moldova is the most serious danger. In a news conference at IPN, Sergiu Mocanu said the illegal regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin is supported and promoted in Moldova through the Russian TV channels.

“Antimafie” calls on the government to immediately ban the broadcasting of Russian channels on the country’s territory. Sergiu Mocanu said the Russian TV channel “Pervyi kanal”, retransmitted by Prime TV, is the first channel that must be banned as it is the only Russian channel with national coverage.

The movement also calls upon the authorities to make effort to hasten the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU, which is the only guarantee of the country’s protection against Russia’s acts. Sergiu Mocanu considers that only Chisinau is now interested in delaying the signing of the accord, if they aim to use this trump card in the election campaign.

According to the leader of “Antimafie”, Moldova’s territory is fully unprotected and the country should join such states as Ukraine and Georgia to create a common defense system to protect themselves against Russia’s aggression. The Moldovan authorities do nothing, while Russian servicemen continue to arrive in the Transnistrian region through the Chisinau airport.

“Antimafie” demands annulling the contract for leasing out the Chisinau International Airport to a Russian company so as not to allow Moscow to control Moldova’s airspace.

The movement calls on the Moldovan citizens, who consider that the Putin regime can protect them, to understand that namely the Russian authorities put in danger the security in the region and the lives of millions of people in this part of Europe.
