An apartment building for employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies is to be constructed in the yard of the institution. This will consist of 47 apartments. The works were launched on April 21 and in the ceremony the contractor offered the keys to seven apartments in buildings erected by this in Chisinau to seven families of firemen, IPN reports.
Attending the event, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the second stage of the project “First House” is being prepared. This will be intended for state functionaries, including rescuers and firemen. The state will guarantee 50% of the bank loan and will pay 50% of the apartment price. “We are trying to solve major problems by small steps that are absolutely essential” stated the Premier.
Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan said over 400 employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies in Chisinau do not have homes and this problems is to be gradually solved by the authorities. Today’s event is a start showing that the state takes care of people who serve the homeland.
General Inspectorate for Emergencies chief Mihai Harabagiu said the housing problem is a major one for the Inspectorate’s employees. The erecting of the apartment building is an absolutely necessary project. There were identified two more plots on which to construct apartment buildings. “It is a first successful step,” stated Mihai Harabagiu.
The 12-story block is erected under a public-private partnership. This is to be made available for occupancy in a year and a half.
