The discharge of the Communist MP Artur Reshetnikov from the post of Deputy Head of Parliament was an act of revenge and image promotion of the Alliance for European Integration, opinion leaders said in the program “Fabrica” on Publika TV, Info-Prim Neo reports. Political analyst Bogdan Tardea said this dismissal can be regarded as settling of accounts. “This post for Mihai Ghimpu is not enough. As to Igor Dodon, I don’t think that he would have implied that he wanted this position. By this decision, the alliance broke the ties between the Communist Party and this Parliament,” said the analyst. Political analyst Arcadie Barbarosie stated that he does not see the meaning of such a decision. “One of the directors of the Security and Information Service said Reshetnikov destroyed the cases on April 7. What does the Prosecutor’s Office do? The alliance tries to improve its image and show that it is tough. It is revenge and a PR action,” he said. Former Prime Minister Dumitru Braghis said the opposition may organize a civic congress. “This will only further divide society. As Artur Reshetnikov did not attend the sittings, the decision to remove him from post is logical, but not the most important. It makes the Communists look like victims,” he said. Political analyst Igor Botan said the situation became pressing for society as well. “The people must demand that the politicians cope with the challenges and obey the law. In two-three years, they may shift to the opposition and would understand what dangerous precedents they set. Valeriu Strelet (the leader of the Liberal-Democratic group – e.n.) said it was a punishment. But the Communists protest because they think the AEI violated the Constitution and thus demand dissolving Parliament,” he stated. Artur Reshetnikov was dismissed from the post of Deputy Speaker by a majority of votes in the March 6 sitting. The proposal to dismiss him was submitted by the Liberal-Democrats.
