The ballots for the elections to choose the Governor of Gagauzia will be light violet in color, while those for the partial elections to choose members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will be beige. They will be printed in three languages – Romanian, Russian, and Gagauz.
Contacted by IPN, the chairman of the Comrat Election Commission Valentin Cara said 12 candidates will be written on the ballot for the election of the Governor, but the number can be modified if some of the candidates withdraw from the race. In the morning of February 24, candidate Oleg Caici submitted an application, asking to be removed from the race. The application is to be examined by the Electoral Commission in a meeting on February 27.
Simultaneously with the elections for Governor, elections to choose members of the People’s Assembly will be held in Congaz district, where there are three election runners, and in Gaidar district, where one person is running. The ballots for these elections will be beige.
The number of ballots that are to be printed in one language or another will be set depending on the number of voters in districts.
The first round of elections in Gagauzia will take place on March 22, while the second, if necessary, on April 5.
