BCS member and supporters protest next to Ministry of Finance

Members and sympathizers of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) staged a protest against the policy pursued by the Ministry of Finance. According to the demonstrators, the Ministry of Finance’s policies lead to higher prices, economic degradation and insufficient financing for the social sphere. They sought the resignation of officials who, through their actions, multiply poverty in the country, IPN reports.

BCS MP Bogdan Țîrdea said that ten years ago, when Moldova signed the Association Agreement with the EU, the absolute poverty rate in the country was 12%. Today it stands at 31%. “The people who built this country, erected this building of the Ministry of Finance, NBM, Government, Parliament, factories, plants, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, libraries, schools live in absolute poverty. And today they are told that it is okay to live like this. At the same time, a minister spends on breakfast as much as pensioners receive on average per month,” stated the MP.

BCS MP Vladimir Odnostalco pointed out that more than 300,000 pensioners voted for PAS, for a higher pension that was simply taken away from them. They increased prices, on the one hand, and indexed less, on the other hand. The authorities are corrupt and should resign.

PSRM municipal councilor Silvia Grigorieva said the people cannot live better in a country where there is no production and there is no agriculture. “They tell us nice fairytales about the fight against corruption, about Moscow’s hand, about the EU, but they grab us by the neck and demand that we should believe that we will live well,” stated the local elected official.

BCS MP Constantin Starysh stressed that the people’s money is spent on unnecessary radars and the arms race. “If we are talking about the war, for which everything is written down, then, in fact, this government declared war on its own country and its own people until their complete destruction,” noted the MP.

BCS MP Oleg Reidman said the authorities spend the people’s money on creating bureaucratic organizations with a large number of employees with unclear positions, but with high salaries, and also on unnecessary reforms. The PAS authorities and President Maia Sandu should resign.
