Certain streets will be closed for traffic during foreign delegations' visits

Only several minutes before the arrival of the Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius at the Chisinau International Airport, the Ministry of the Interior called a meeting to announce the travel restrictions imposed in connection with the Lithuanian official's visit and the coming visit by the Romanian President Traian Basescu, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Cibotaru, the head of the Ministry's Public Order and Security Division, said the Ministry of the Interior is calling on the Chisinau drivers to comply with the new rules and avoid incidents. About 1,300 police officers will work to ensure security in Chisinau between January 26 and 28. No parking will be allowed in central Chisinau and nearby the streets along which the official delegations will travel. In this connection, Cibotaru stressed that several nongovernmental organizations intend to organize protests and draw the public's attention. Recently, the Movement of Transnistrian Refugees announced that they will profit from President Traian Basescu's visit to Chisinau and will stage protests. The members of the League of Slavonic Youth will also take to the streets.
