The Chisinau residents will be able to dial a hot line to complain about not having heat in their apartments and about other related issues, Eduard Musuc, the chairman of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), told a news conference on December 16, Info-Prim Neo reports. The hot line is not working yet but Musuc says it will work “to defend the citizens' rights, to monitor and control the situation in the heat-energy sector,” Musuc said. The CMC's chair promises “every complaint will be registered by specialists and will be considered for a month. The terms of solving the issues will depend on their seriousness”. Musuc menaces to dismiss the officials who will not solve the citizens' problems. “At different staff meetings they say everything is OK, that the people have heat in their apartments, but actually hundreds of people call the City Hall complaining their have to pay for the heat they do not receive,” Musuc said. “The structures in charge do not offer much information about what is going on. Consequently, the CMC cannot objectively evaluate the activity of the City Hall, if the municipal services and the situation in the capital in general,” he said. Musuc has said that “the triumphant reports of Termocom or the fact that the CMC does not establish a new heat tariff are not reasons to provide low-quality services to the people.” The hotline will be financed from the money allocated for the apparatus of the CMC's chair. When asked by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Housing Direction, Petru Gontea, has said more complaints as to the quality of the thermal agent come from dwellers lately. “Every single case shall be considered. There are problems. But everybody can say a lot has been done to prepare for the cold season this year,” Gontea said. Commenting on the dismissal threats, he agreed with the idea.
