Christian associations: We will not allow LGBT representatives to soil this land
The Alliance of Orthodox Associations of Moldova that was founded recently intends to foil sexual minorities' plans to stage a pride parade in Chisinau on May 2, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on April 29, Iacob Lefter, vice president of the National Christian Movement, said that by its actions, the association Gender-Doc M, which protects the interests of the sexual minorities, violates the rights of at least 93.4% of the Moldovans, who are Orthodox Christians and consider that the family is a blessing, a union between man and woman, not between persons of the same sex.
On May 2, the Alliance of Orthodox Associations plans to hold a meeting in the Great National Assembly Square, where the LGBT parade is to be staged, and ensure public order in the center of Chisinau together with the police, Iacob Lefter said.
“By our presence and by prayers, we will not allow the LGBT representatives to soil this land,” said the head of the organization PRO Ortodoxia Ghenadie Valuta. According to him, the parade organized by Gender-Doc M is an ostentatious attempt by several homosexuals in Moldova to impose a lifestyle that is not characteristic of the humans on the majority.
On April 29, the Chisinau Court of Appeals banned the LGBT community from holding the parade in the Great National Assembly Square on May 2. It recommended that they should stage the event at the Summer Theater in Valea Morilor Park.
