The repair of Columna Street in Chisinau could be prolonged because authorities want the works to be of high quality, Adrian Boldurescu, head of the municipal Public Transport and Roads Division, told Info-Prim Neo.
Boldurescu says that he and the people want quality works and that’s why the repair of Columna Street won’t be finished at the end of October, as previously announced, but could continue until next year.
“At this moment, the workers of Ruta Dor are repairing the sidewalks of Columna Street between Serhei Lazo and Mihai Viteazu streets. These are the most difficult works. The repair of the roadway will begin afterwards”, said Adrian Boldurescu.
According to him, the workers are using modern equipment. He hopes there won’t be any trouble afterwards, unlike the case of Alba Iulia Street.
The drivers who have to wait in traffic jams are unhappy and complain they need half an hour to pass through the zone under repair.
The repair of Columna Street will cost about 162 million lei.
