Commission of inquiry into case of Baghirov constituted

The legislative body set up a commission of inquiry into the circumstances of the escape of Russian blogger Eduard Baghirov, who is accused of taking part in the organization of the April 7, 2009 mass disorder, Info-Prim Neo reports. Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu proposed naming Valeriu Saharneanu as the commission’s chairman. “Mister Saharneanu put forward the initiative and I think he should head the commission. A representative of the other parliamentary groups can act as secretary,” he said. Liberal-Democrat MP Valeriu Strelet suggested his colleague Alexandru Cimbriciuc for the post. He said Valeriu Saharneanu should be appointed secretary. His proposal was accepted. The commission will consist of seven lawmakers – Alexandru Cimbriciuc, Iurie Apostolachi and Petru Stirbate of the PLDM, Artur Reshetnikov and Gheorghe Anghel of the PCRM, Valeriu Saharneanu of the PL, and Stella Jantuan, of the PDM. Eduard Baghirov is accused of participating in the organization of the mass disorder of April 2009 as part of a criminal group. On October 19, he was put on the wanted list as he fled the country to Russia after he was put under house arrest.
