Communists win electoral battle in Balti
The preliminary results of the June 5 elections show that the PCRM’s candidate for mayor of Balti Vasile Panciuc won with 68.7% of the vote. In the election of the Balti Municipal Council, the PCRM won 63.49% of the vote, Info-Prim Neo reports.
With 100% of the vote counted electronically, Vasile Panciuc leads with 68.7% of the ballot. He is followed by the PLDM’s candidate Vladimir Tonciuc with 15.41% of the poll, the PL’s candidate Vadim Vacarciuc with 7.38%, and the candidate of the PDM Anatolie Harchenko with 5.96%. The other candidates polled a much lower number of votes.
According to the results of the elections for the Balti Municipal Council, the PCRM polled 63.49% of the vote, the PLDM – 12.70%, the PL – 6.07%, the PDM – 5.33%, the PSD – 2.21%.
The results will become definitive after the paper vote counting reports reach the Central Election Commission.
