The Centru District Court rejected the lawsuit filed by the Democratic Party (PDM) against the People’s Movement “Antimafie” by which the Democrats ask banning the holding of protests and other public events near the meetings staged by the PDM, IPN reports.

“Such a court decision was predictable, even if we had no hope that justice will be done to us. The PDM’s complaint was absurd. We now go to the CEC, which will examine the same complaint,” said the leader of “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu.

Nicole Raileanu, the representative of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” to the Central Election Commission, said the judge shouldn’t even have accepted the PDM’s application for examination.

The Democrats note that the complaint was filed after candidate Sergiu Mocanu and colleagues of his on two separate occasions tried to incite people taking part in electoral events alongside the PDM to violence: in Cantemir on October 18 and in Nisporeni on October 19.
