The creation unions of Moldova called on the lawmakers to vote for the new Government. The people of art consider that there is no better candidate for Prime Minister than the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat, IPN reports.
In a news conference on April 19, the people of art called upon the politicians to leave their vainglory aside and to install a new executive. Sandu Grecu, chairman of the Theater Union of Moldova, said that the country is at a turning point and the politicians should not miss the chance of bringing Moldova closer to the EU.
Sandu Grecu said that the Government must be headed by the leader of the most influential pro-European party of Moldova – Vlad Filat. Speaking about the accusations of smuggling and traffic of influence made by the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu against Vlad Filat, he stated that these are unsupported accusations and attempts to distract the people’s attention and to ruin the European integration aspirations.
The chairman of the Writers Union Arcadie Suceveanu stressed that every legislature has its own priorities. The signing of the Association Agreement with the EU remains the priority of the current legislative body. The politicians should overcome the animosities and elect the new Government. The Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat is the guarantor of Moldova’s European course before the EU partners.
Sergiu Prodan, who heads the Filmmakers Union, said that Moldova is badly in need of a Government. “We played for too long. It’s time to show maturity. Now any government is better than no government,” he stated.
Composer Gheorghe Mustea said the internal situation is worrisome and the people shouldn’t remain indifferent. “We ask the political leaders to come to terms and to ensure the country’s European course. We consider that the alliance must exist,” he added.
The representative of the Journalists Union Chiril Motpan said that if the people do not become involved in solving the crisis, Moldova risks missing the European train.
Ion Diviza, chairman of the Association of Epigramists, said that even if the satirical writers have more inspiration when the politicians quarrel, he wants this crisis to come to an end for the country’s benefit.
The people of art are ready to stage meetings, protests and strikes if the politicians do not invest a Government as soon as possible.
