Current Government reminds of Soviet institutions, PPR

The Government is, very much, like a high tier institution from the Soviet period. The finances and assets are distributed exclusively either by Party criteria, or to close people. For these reasons, the Executive did not and, will not, manage to rise to the level of developing long term strategies. These statements belong to the Republican People's Party (PPR) Declaration, which was made public. Considering this, PPR requests the Government and Parliament to examine and adopt, in the first weeks of the autumn session, legislative proposals to resolve these issues. According to the Declaration, the PPR urged the European Integration Alliance (AIE), since its rise to power, to promptly adopt the Law package on decentralizing state power. Through these Laws local public administration would’ve gotten the proper degree of autonomy, a vital necessity when talking about administration and financing. Such practice has become unbreachable Law for the great majority of European countries. “All we have to do is to accept these traditions, and join these countries. This sole fact would insure unlimited possibilities in rallying the entire population into solving the numerous local issues, such as economic, social, environmental, etc. Maybe it was not even the case for us to express our opinion on the matter, since these stipulations are a component of the current Government’s activity plan”, mentions the Declaration. In reality, the Government’s futility in proposing these bills, but also the absence from the Parliament’s agenda of the rigorous monitoring of the enforcement of previously adopted Laws, bring great prejudice to Moldova’s image in the European integration process, the PPR thinks. “On the foreign plane, Moldova was and will be lagging behind on reforming and extending the autonomy of local administration, on the adjustment to international regulation. Recent events prove the futility and irresponsibility of the decision makers, which generates sizeable destabilization and worsening of the economic, social, political and local situation”, says the Declaration of the Party. “An example would be the adoption of a bill at the insistence, threats, and pressure of the administration of Balti. It would’ve been proper to define the concept and general principles for absolutely all public local structures, with concrete reference to local public finances. Without these amendments, including those related to Moldova’s territorial organization, any attempt to reform the State’s power distribution will generate even greater chaos”, believes the Republican People's Party.
