Moldova’s champion Sheriff Tiraspol refused to take part in the competition as they will not have enough time to prepare for it after the Europa League matches. Sources in Dacia Chisinau confirmed this information. This is not the only case of the kind. Belarus will be represented by the bronze holder Dnepr Moghilev. Uzbekistan’s champing Bunyodkor could also refuse to participate. The 2010 CIS Cup will take place between January 15 and 25. The participation in the CIS Cup is a nice present for Dacia, which celebrated 10 years of the foundation on November 12. Dacia won the second position in the National Division (2007-2008, 2008-2009) and the third place in the National Division (2004-05), was the finalist of Moldova’s Cup (2005, 2009), the finalist of the Intertoto Cup (2007) and was named the best team in Moldova in 2007.
