The parliamentary group of the Liberal Party proposed including the issue of local elections in the March 31 sitting of the legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports. The proposal was submitted by the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu and was accepted by the members of the Democratic faction. The Democrat MPs said the draft decision on the date of the local elections should be examined after the state budget law is passed in final reading. The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group did not pronounce on the Liberal lawmakers' proposal. No party has yet made public the names of the candidates who will run in the local elections. The leaders of the parliamentary parties said earlier that the local elections should take place early in June. Most probably, the elections will be held on June 5.
