The Movement “Democratia Acasa” (“Democracy at Home”) expresses its regret at how the parties of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) reacted to the protest note that the members of the organization left at their head offices. In a news conference held at Info-Prim Neo on June 3, the Movement’s leader Vasile Costiuc said the position of the member parties of the ruling alliance, which ignored the protest note, shows that they do not care about the young people who took to the streets on April 7, 2009.
“The reaction of the AEI parties showed again that they do not care about the young people and their future. Of the four parliamentary parties, only the Communists went out to ask the young persons why they protest,” said Vasile Costiuc.
He also said that the leader of the Democrat Youth Victor Zubco treated rudely his mates who protested because they want only to live better at home. “This young man who has headed the PDM’s young wing for ten years grew older, but did not manage to represent the youth in Parliament, the Government or other institutions. Regretfully, the young people carry the burden of the election campaigns and bring in Parliament businessmen and opportunists who promote narrow group interests,” said Vasile Costiuc.
The Movement’s chairman said the protest note submitted to the AEI parties is not electoral in character, as the PLDM leader Vlad Filat asserted. “The lawmakers were not in Parliament on June 2, when they were to hold a sitting. They weren’t at the head offices of the parties either. Where are the MPs then? The Parliament’s garages aren’t locked and the cars aren’t there. For whom do the MPs work then?,” asked Vasile Costiuc.
On June 2, the members and supporters of the Movement “Democratia Acasa” left by a protest note at the head offices of the member parties of the AEI, where they asked for explanations over the endlessly postponed sittings of the legislative body and the vacations they take illegally. They also asked if we will have early legislative elections or not.
