The Democratic Parry is the author of the scrip for the anti-Chirtoaca referendum, said participants in the talk show “Union Square” on Noroc TV channel. Other participants noted the Party of Socialists and President Igor Dodon are to blame for the created situation, but also invoked the political tactic of the Liberal Party, IPN reports.

Political analyst Stefan Secareanu said the Democratic Party planned the anti-Chirtoaca referendum and the ruling grouping led by Vladimir Plahotiuc is most interested in this referendum and in what is happening at the Chisinau City Hall.

Head of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu stated the regret following the election of Igor Dodon as President is so big that he has no objections to Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. “I think what is happening to Dorin Chirtoaca is not because of him, but rather because of the policy pursued by the Liberal Party,” he stated, calling on the citizens not to take part in the referendum so as not to allow the Socialists to seize power in Chisinau.

Deputy head of the Democratic Youth Ion Harghel said the Socialists’ initiative is populist, as the other initiatives promoted so far by Igor Dodon are. “I do not like the situation in which Chisinau is now. I think no one likes the damaged roads, the poor quality of the repair works, but we cannot allow the Socialists to take control of the capital city as this will be a very big plus for them in the elections of 2018,” he stated.
