“At the end of term, Mister Nicolae Timofti realized that he can be President and can make statements. At least now. I realize his psychological state. It’s painful to leave the highest state post without leaving something noteworthy behind, except for a sack of conferred medals,“ President-elect Igor Dodon says in a post published on a social networking site, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon’s comment comes after President Nicolae Timofti issued a statement saying we do not have what to apologize for to a separatist regime and that it was the constitutional order that was defended during the armed conflict on the Nistru. The Head of State replied thus to President-elect’s statements about the apologies that Chisinau should offer to Transnistria.

In his posting, Igor Dodon says not even these statements made towers the end of term by President Timofti are coherent as they show lack of understanding of the political realities in Moldova. “But this is not surprising to me. It happens so when you do not have something, but don’t even know what you don’t have. It happens so when you have unionists or anti-statehood persons in your staff. We will yet clarify how it happened that Mister Timofti installed a Government and a prosecutor general in the darkness, at night, in secret from the people, why he kept silent when the US$1 billion was stolen and how he approved of other antisocial things,” wrote Dodon, expressing his regret at the fact that he had to make such remarks at the end of Nicolae Timofti’s term.
