The Liberal group on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) could return to the meetings of the Council starting with April 14. The announcement was made by the mayor general of Chisinau municipality Dorin Chirtoaca in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
According to the mayor, the Liberal group didn’t attend a number of meetings of the CMC because illegal decisions were put to the vote in these. “They formed an alliance between the Socialists, the Communists and the councilors of Renato Usatyi’s party, which was later joined by the councilors of the European People’s Party. They voted a number of illegal decisions. The decisions proposed by us are to be examined now. These include the draft decision on development that must be covered with budget resources,” he stated.
Dorin Chirtoaca also said that owing to the disagreement inside the CMC, the Council’s work is blocked. “Before the formation of the Council, the waiting list included 1 000 draft decisions. Now the figure stands at over 2 000. Ultimately, the consequences are supported by the people,” he stated.
In the same program, the mayor made suggestions intended for village mayors. “The decisions concerning the change of the purpose of land should be taken in the general assembly of the whole village so that there is no doubt about the employment of fraudulent schemes. The obtained money should return to the local budget so as to be used in infrastructure. It’s not so easy, but this will be a step forward,” he said.
