Dumitru Diacov considers it is wrong to hold discussions on local alliances in Chisinau

“I think it is not right that we concentrated the discussions on the formation of local alliances in Chisinau. We had early elections and have 32 districts with 32 results,” the head of the Democratic parliamentary group Dumitru Diacov told a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Dumitru Diacov said the accusations made by the PLDM against the PDM as regards the local governments are unfounded. “The Democratic Party, together with the colleagues from the ruling alliance, tried to formulate an agreement that the local organizations could use to form local alliances,” said Dumitru Diacov. According to the leader of the Democratic group, the agreement to make local alliances wasn’t signed because the three parties of the ruling alliance kept their initial positions and did not try to find a compromise that would have helped reached viable agreements at local level. “We accepted the idea of forming a local coalition, but there was needed a central agreement based on the weight of the parties. Now we must tell the local organizations that they should negotiate themselves. This means that some of the parties will find other partners,” said Dumitru Diacov. He also said that no negotiations are now held over the formation of local alliances.
