The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and its leader Vlad Filat want early legislative elections, Head of Parliament Marian Lupu, the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM), said in the program “In Depth” on Pro TV channel. According to him, the PLDM wants early elections because Vlad Filat acknowledged the failure of his policy and of the policy of the Government he heads, Info-Prim Neo reports. “They designed a scenario, but it didn’t happen as they planned. The information we possess and the analysis we made and continue to make show that this decision wasn’t at all accidental. The strategy and goal of the PLDM and its leader Vlad Filat are to cause early elections,” Marian Lupu said. According to him, the most important reason for which Vlad Filat wants early elections after two years of efforts and the overcoming of the political crisis is that he realized the failure of his policy and of the policy of the Government he leads. “After he promised many things to the people, saying that he takes care of them and that the post is not as important for him as the people’s welfare and happiness, Vlad Filat faced a harsh reality,” stated the Democratic leader. He referred to a number of areas, including the education sector, saying the Education Code hasn’t been yet formulated and a number of schools were closed in accord mace with the reform in this sector. Marian Lupu said the reform in healthcare was not well-thought-out, stressing that many hospitals are closed. As to agriculture, the management there is bad and there is a disaster in the provision of subsidies. He also said that the greatest corruption is at the customs and the tax service. Marian Lupu said the PDM seeks the resignation of Vlad Filat from the post of Premier and if the Liberal-Democrat does not resign, the Democratic Party will insist on dismissing him and this will happen sooner or later, regardless of the situation in Parliament. The Speaker announced that if Vlad Filat does not resign, the PDM will initiate a censure motion or will join any other motion against the Government, proposed by another party or that suggested by unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea.
