Election of Supreme Court of Justice president postponed
The November 1 meeting of the Supreme Council of Magistrates, where the president of the Supreme Court of Justice was to be elected, was adjourned as a quorum was not present, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Ecaterina Buzu, the head of the Supreme Council of Magistrates’ Apparatus, said that four of the Council members are on trips abroad. Thus, the meeting could not take place as a quorum of at least eight members of 11 was not present.
The post of Supreme Court of Justice president is disputed by the Court’s acting president Ion Muruianu and Moldova’s judge at the European Court of Human Rights Mihai Poalelungi.
