Elections in Moldova on PACE session agenda
A delegation of the Parliament of Moldova headed by MP Ana Gutu is taking part in the first part of the ordinary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) that is held in Strasbourg on January 24-28, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the presidential press service, the delegation also includes MPs Valeriu Ghiletski and Grigore Petrenco.
During the first day of the session, PACE observers will render a report on how the early legislative elections of November 28, 2010 were conducted in Moldova.
Among other items on the agenda are the examination of a series of reports and resolutions on the implementation of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, protection of refugees and migrants in cases of extradition and expulsion, the developments in the Balkans and the reconciliation of the states that formed part of the former Yugoslavia, the inhuman treatment of persons and illegal trafficking in organs in Kosovo, the results of the reform of the Council of Europe, protection of the journalistic sources, fulfillment of the commitments concerning the social rights, etc.
The PACE ordinary session brought together a series of foreign political personalities who will deliver speeches during the meetings. They include Romania's President Traian Basescu, Turkey's President Abdullah Gül, Serbian President Boris Tadic, and Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
