Attempts to corrupt the voters, ballots without the stamp “withdrawn” next to the Party “Patria” and ballots annulled unreasonably are the violations detected by national observers of the Association “Promo-LEX” in the voting process.
The head of the Election Monitoring Effort Pavel Postica said the observers identified at least three cases when the voting booths were placed inappropriately and could not ensure the secrecy of the vote. At the polling place in Clisova village of Orhei district, the mayor acted as observer.
“We established that two polling places were issued with a higher number of ballots than the number of voters included in the rolls. At the polling place in Leuseni, Hancesti, the stamp “withdrawn” wasn’t put next to the Party “Patria”, the members of the electoral bureau arguing they didn’t receive clear instructions,” stated Pavel Postica.
More ballots were photographed and published on the Internet. Electoral posters continued to be placed near polling places. “We identified cases when the voters were allowed to vote with the passport. Voters were transported to polling places in an organized way, including by a governmental car,” said Pavel Postica.
There were also detected two cases of corrupting the voters. They were offered food products and alcoholic beverages for voting for a particular election runner. One voter tried to leave the polling place with the ballot.
At a polling place in Chisinau, instead of the stamp “withdrawn” next to the Party “Patria”, the members of the electoral bureau put the stamp “annulled”. As a result, a large number of ballots were spoiled.
