Acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega convened an emergency Government meeting in connection with the Afghanistan incident that involved a helicopter belonging to a Moldovan company, the executive’s press service has said.
The meeting is to be attended by acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, acting Minister of the Interior Oleg Balan and acting Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru, director of the Security and Intelligence Service Mihai Balan and a representative of the Civil Aviation Authority.
Statements for the press will be made after the meeting.
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said it instructed Moldova’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations to immediately obtain official information about the three Moldovan citizens, who were members of the crew of the helicopter captured in Afghanistan, from the UN Peacekeeping Mission in this country.
