EU welcomes amendment of existing legislation on securities transactions
The European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova welcomes the
adoption on August 24 by the Government of the Republic of Moldova of
the law amending a number of legislative provisions with respect to
securities transactions, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release
from the Delegation.
“This measure reflects the will of the Government of the Republic of
Moldova further to strengthen the financial market infrastructure of the
country; to offer better legal protection to Moldovan and foreign
investors, in particular with regard to their investments in securities;
and to work towards establishing the rule of law and improving the
business climate in the Republic of Moldova. The EU Delegation is
looking forward to the effective implementation of this law,” it is said
in the press release.
In the context of the negotiations of the future Association Agreement
between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, which aims also
to provide for a deep and comprehensive free trade area, the EU
Delegation underlines the importance of continuing to align Moldovan
legislation with relevant EU and international standards and best
practices.
