Eugene Ionesco scholarships offered for Francophone doctoral students and researchers

The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau is inviting Francophone doctoral students and researchers in Moldova to apply for a doctoral or post-doctoral scholarship as part of the Eugene Ionesco Program, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Romanian diplomatic mission specified in a press release that the duration of a scholarship is from 3 to 6 months, depending on the scale of the research project, and will be offered starting 1 February 2012. Scholarships are available in 22 educational institutions participating in the Program. Beneficiaries will receive monthly stipends between 800 and 1,000 euros and a one-time settlement allowance of 300 euros. The scholarships are offered by the Romanian government through the Foreign Affairs Ministry and are administrated by the Francophone University Agency. The Eugene Ionesco Scholarship Program is destined for doctoral students and researchers from member countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) and priority is given to Central and East Europe.
