Extra-parliamentary parties don’t participate in Prime Minister’s consultations, statement
The Republican People’s Party of Moldova (PPR) and the social-political movement “New Force” don’t support Prime Minister Vlad Filat’s initiative and won’t participate in the consultations initiated by him, the parties said in a press statement. Both say they refuse to get involved in political games that harm society and the state, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the statement, the PPR and New Force saluted and encouraged the creation of the Alliance for European Integration. “We hoped this was our chance to get rid of Communists once and for all. We thought AIE-2 would fully realize its responsibilities and would not repeat the mistakes of the previous alliance. Unfortunately, conflicts persist within the AIE and the three parties lack political will to implement the announced governing plan. We have no real proof they started the reforms of the judiciary, education, economy, etc. After two years, instead of coming with some reports, they go on with populist actions. This aggravates the already precarious social-political situation”, reads the statement.
They described as “fully populist the PM Vlad Filat’s initiative to consult with civil society, including extra-parliamentary parties. Even if some of these issues are urgent, it’s necessary and fair they are discussed within the AIE-2 in order to assume some obligations and identify together the mechanisms of solving certain problems. This initiative is an attempt to engage a part of society in pursuit of one’s personal goals and not in state’s interest. From our point of view, discussions and consultations can be accepted only with the participation of all AIE members. We don’t like partisanship and won’t admit being used by someone, in this case- by Prime Minister Filat”, the two parties declared.
“Members of our factions have been in the government. They accumulated some experience. They voted the Independence of the Republic of Moldova and participated in the development of the documents regarding the territorial-administrative reform in 1999, the legislative reform in 1994, the new codes in 1998-1999, the civil and penal codes in 2004, the military reform. Based on this experience, we proposed the PM Vlad Filat, a few months ago, to begin a process of consultation. He rejected our offer, without explaining his answer. We are still available for discussions, but with one condition- the other two parties of the Alliance should participate as well. Today, Moldova needs political stability more than ever”, reads the statement signed by the leaders of PPR and New Force, Nicolae Andronic and Valeriu Plesca.
