Faced with two Christmas tree options, one found in Glodeni and another in Orhei, the Chisinau City Hall chose a third fir tree, which was found in a household on the city's outskirts. The tree is expected to be installed in the National Assembly Square on Sunday. Chisinau's chief arborist told Info-Prim Neo that Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca had already seen the tree, which is located in Posta Veche neighborhood, and gave his assent for it to become the country's Main Christmas Tree. Aged about 50 years, the tree is a silver fir standing at nearly 20 meters tall. The municipality will negotiate its price somewhere in the region of 15,000 lei. Last year the City Hall bought the Christmas Tree from Bozieni, Hincesti district, for 11,000 lei. It stood at 26 meters tall together with the platform.
