A Family Festival will be held in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau this Sunday, May 22. Victor Poleacov, the head of the “Young Guard” Organization, in a news conference at IPN said this event is staged by members of the Party of Socialists and by representatives of civil society.
According to Victor Poleacov, a number of activities will be carried out in the central square of Chisinau starting at 11am. These will include contests for children and for the whole family. All those who will want will have their pictures taken. The goal of the festival is to promote the traditional family consisting of the man, woman and children, and their values.
“We ascertained with regret that a march of the sexual minorities will be mounted this Sunday. This will go from UNIC Store up to the Great National Assembly Square,” stated Victor Poleacov. He added that the Family Festival has been planned for a long time and didn’t appear spontaneously.
Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalco expressed his regret at the fact that the local authorities allowed holding the march of the LGBT community and that the authorities even impose accepting the propaganda concerning nontraditional sexual orientation by adopting favorable legislation.
Vladimir Odnostalco made a call to families, young and elderly people to join the Family Festival that is a traditional and Christian event. He condemned the fact that the representatives of the sexual minorities chose to march through Chisinau not long before the International Children’s Day.
Socialist MP Gennady Mitriuc said he wants Moldovan society to keep its traditions, while the family to continue to be formed of the man, woman and children. He noted he has two daughters for whom he wants a bright future so that they have children and their children live in a health society too. From his viewpoint, the promotion of the rights of the persons of a nontraditional sexual orientation is only the beginning and more requests will follow, such as to legalize same-sex marriages.
On May 22, the Information Center “Genderdoc-M” will mount in Chisinau a solidarity march entitled “Without fear”. The goal of the event is to support the rights of the members of the LGBT community.
