Filat suggests Dodon is supported from abroad
Vlad Filat, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, has speculated that the Communist candidate for Chisinau's mayor could be representing other interests in addition to those of the Communist Party. In an interview with RFE/RL's Moldovan office, Vlad Filat suggested that Igor Dodon could be enjoying the support of some external forces, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We are yet to see whose candidate Mr. Dodon really is. And I mean to say that it's not someone from the Republic of Moldova who is behind him. He may be supported, and this will become evident soon, from abroad”, stated Vlad Filat in the interview, repeating a supposition he first mentioned earlier this week.
“Mr. Filat should better not play Agent 007, juggling with insinuations and suppositions. Anyway, it's not a prime minister's duty to wonder who's behind who; a prime minister should have other concerns. As for those allegations, I can tell Mr. Filat that there is no one behind me except for my Communist colleagues and the citizens”, Dodon replied.
