1248 polling stations were opened at 7:00am across the country for the second round of mayoral elections, Central Election Commission chairman Iurie Ciocan announced at a press briefing held at 8:00am, Info-Prim Neo reports. In Chisinau's Centru district, which pilots an electronic voter register, about 1,500 people already cast their ballots by 8:20am. Today, June 19, mayoral run-offs are held in 512 locations. Also, one village – Loganesti (Hancesti district) – holds repeat elections for the village council. Further information will be presented by the CEC at 10.00.
