Five candidates for the post of mayor of Chisinau and four parties with candidates for posts on the Chisinau Municipal Council have submitted the documents needed for being registered officially to the Chisinau District Electoral Council, IPN reports.

As a result of the draw, it was decided that the Communists’ candidate Vasile Chirtoca will be the first on the ballot for the Chisinau mayoralty. He will be followed by the Socialists’ candidate Zinaida Grecheanyi, the candidate of the “Our” Party Ilian Casu, the candidate of the Electoral Bloc “European People’s Party - Iurie Leanca” Oazu Nantoi, and the National Liberal Party’s candidate Timofei Turcanu.

The places on the ballot for the Chisinau Municipal Council are now as follows: 1 – the PCRM; 2 – the PL; 3 – the PNL, and 4 – the PSRM.

The head of the Chisinau District Electoral Council Ion Turcan told the contenders that the decision concerning their registration will be taken within seven days, but can be made public even in several days. Afterward it will be published on the website of the Chisinau City Hall.
