A citizen of Serbia who held the post of director general of Zepter International SRL in Moldova until 2007 was sentenced to eight years in closed-type jail for misappropriation, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in 2007 the offender drew up and illegally signed a contract for selling-purchasing a Skoda Superb car owned by Zepter International SRL, indicating the company he headed as seller and himself as buyer. Under the contract, the price of the car was 96,217 lei. But the technical examination report of July 2007 showed that the vehicle’s real price was 299,347 lei.
The prosecutors also established that in the summer of 2007, the culprit appropriated three laptops and Zepter cookware from the company. By his acts, the former director caused damage estimated at over 600,000 lei to the company.
The same year, the Prosecutor General’s Office put the man on the world’s most wanted list. He was arrested and extradited to Moldova by the competent authorities of Croatia in 2011. The offender aged 60 paid compensations to the company. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
